1) Onion juice
This is the oldest and the most efficient home remedy for hair growth. Onion juice is rich in sulfur  which boosts the production of the collagen tissues and thus helps in the re-growth of hair. You can use red onions or shallots by chopping it into small pieces and then squeezing out its juice. Then apply it on your scalp and keep for 15 minutes. Finally rinse off with a mild shampoo.

2) Apple cider vinegar
This vinegar gently cleanses the scalp and maintains the PH balance of the hair, thus accelerating hair growth. Use the apple cider vinegar as a final rinse after shampoo to get healthy and shiny hair.

3) Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is an excellent remedy for hair growth. Aloe Vera moisturizes the scalp and prevents dry itchy scalp it also balances the pH level of the scalp.
 Apply pure Aloe Vera gel on the scalp and massage for ten minutes. Wait for a few hours and wash the hair with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy twice a week to get better results.

4) Fenugreek 
Soak  some fenugreek in a large pot of water for 24 hours. Completely saturate your hair and scalp with the liquid, cover your head with a shower cap and leave on for 3 hours. Rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat every day for a month.

5) Hot Oil Massage
This is an effective home remedy for hair growth. Massaging the head and scalp with hot oil will improve the blood flow to the scalp and rejuvenates the hair follicles. Oil massage also controls dandruff and prevents hair loss. Massage the scalp daily with lukewarm oil.

You can use almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, rosemary oil or lavender oil to massage the scalp. 
Leave the oil on hair at least for 30 minutes and wash it off. You can keep the oil on the scalp overnight and wash it off next day morning to get better results.

6) Eggs
Egg has been used since the ancient times for combating hair loss. It contains high levels of proteins which help in the formation of new hair. It is also rich in sulphur, zinc, iron, selenium, phosphorous and iodine.

In white of an egg, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and honey and mix it well to form a smooth paste. Apply all over the hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and shampoo it off.

7) Green Tea
Green tea is rich in antioxidants and hence promotes hair growth. You can use it externally as well as internally as a home remedy for hair growth. 
Drinking green tea 3-4 times a day helps in the overall health of the body as well as for the growth of the hair. You can apply warm green tea on your scalp and leave it on hair for one hour. Rinse off the green tea with cool water to get shiny and soft hair

8) Potato Juice
Potato juice helps in hair growth especially if you are suffering from thinning of hair. Apply potato juice on the scalp and leave it on the hair for 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. You can also use water in which potatoes are boiled to rinse your hair to accelerate hair growth.

This is a secret remedy as most of the people are not familiar with the hair growth properties of potato juice. Simply apply the potato juice on the scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. This can also be used if you’re suffering from “alopecia- thinning of hair”. Potato is also good for using as face packs too.

9) Coconut milk
Coconut milk is rich in proteins, iron, potassium and essential fats. It reduces hair shedding and breakage. So if you want to experience healthy and damage free hair, use coconut milk. Extract the milk of a coconut and apply on the targeted areas. Keep it overnight and rinse off with cool water the next day.

10) Amla or Indian gooseberry
Everyone is familiar with the magical properties of amla. It is the powerhouse of antioxidants and vitamin C. Amla promotes healthy hair growth and also improves the pigmentation of the hair. Mix 2 teaspoons of amla powder or juice with 2 teaspoons of lime juice. Apply this on the scalp and let it dry. Rinse with warm water. 

11) Hibiscus flower
Hibiscus is truly said the “flower of hair care.” This flower is used for curing dandruff and enhances the hair growth. It also thickens the hair and prevents pre mature ageing. Make a paste of the hibiscus flower with coconut oil or sesame oil and apply on the hair. Rinse with a mild shampoo.

12) Garlic
Garlic is widely known for reducing the shedding of hair. It also boosts the regeneration of new hair and promotes the scalp circulation. Boil a few cloves of crushed garlic in olive oil or coconut oil and then apply it on the roots of the hair -follicles. Use this treatment thrice a week. 

13) Vitamin E oil.
Vitamin E oil is rich in anti oxidants thus it helps to fight away the free radicals. It helps in increasing oxygen in the body and thus increases the blood circulation in the scalp. Massage the vitamin E oil onto the scalp and leave it overnight. Wash off with a mild shampoo the next day for soft and smooth hair.

14) Henna
Henna is a natural conditioner and it makes dry hair soft and smooth. Henna strengthens the root of the hair. Mix two tablespoons of henna powder in ½ cup yogurt and keep it for two hours. Apply this mixture on the hair and leave the pack for at least one hour than wash it off with mild shampoo and cold water.

15) Banana And Honey
Banana and honey pack can work as a conditioner and moisturizes the hair. Mash one banana and add one tablespoon of honey to it. Apply the mask on the hair and wash it off after 45 minutes.
